Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

Midlands 2016-#1N

It has been a while since my last trip northwards through the Midlands, and this time it was to Campbell Town to run some professional learning for teachers. I wasn’t driving, and the car was full, and we didn’t have much time to spare, so it was a bit difficult to think about stopping to take a photo (and when the car is full I hate winding down the window to take photos because you get all that blustery wind racket … plus the photos usually end up blurred). It was a nice day, and the light in the morning was particularly pretty … but I didn’t really get to see that much of it because I was doing one of my least favourite things: trying to work in a moving vehicle without getting motion sick. The last fortnight has been crazy-busy, and although I had my plans for the day sorted out in my head, I hadn’t done the PowerPoint slides. So, this is what much of the “view” looked like for this midlands journey.

(The “Midlands” series of posts are supposed to contain at least one photo from each work trip that takes me well north of Hobart, usually through the midlands of Tasmania. The series is meant to be an exercise in finding “nice” photos to help me appreciate the trip each time I have to do it, lest I come to begrudge a journey which work requires me to do quite a few times each year.)
