Most of my midlands trips this year have been coinciding with sunset time (and this is likely to continue), and so the sunset shots are likely to become a theme if I maintain this self-imposed photography challenge that helps to keep the drive interesting. This time the pink is on the opposite side of the sky from the sun (it’s a bit hard to expose for the sky and for the darker foreground; the eye and brain are remarkable things for seeing both of them at nice exposures).
There has been a great deal of rain in recent weeks and there is plenty of evidence of this in filled farm dams, sheets of water in the paddocks, and strong flows in summer’s dry creeks.
It was dark when I arrived in Launceston, and I’d spotted some interesting light effects on approach to my accommodation. They weren’t as good when I went for a walk to check them out, but I tried a hand-held 1 second exposure anyway, and the result — while not what I hoped — isn’t terrible.
