I had a most-of-the-day meeting in Launceston today, and afterwards felt the need for a walk. I had the freedom to go a little further afield (as I was not tied down to the uni car) and so headed downriver to the north to the wetlands walk out to the Tamar Islands. There was lots of birdlife, including ducks, black swans, geese, swallows, swamp hens, native hens, and gulls, but there was also—to my slight surprise—something I am fairly sure was a white swan way off in the distance. It’s a lovely area made particularly pretty by the late afternoon light.
Here are some photos.
