Today was a public holiday in Hobart, and despite the inclement weather and a pile of urgent work I took my parents for a drive to the east coast south of Orford. It was still windy and cold, but we avoided the rainy cold fronts that were hitting Hobart (see today’s Moods of the Mountain post). As we were driving, we came across a turn off which none of us had taken before, and it seemed intriguing so we headed off. The road bisects a massive farming property and we were a bit cautious about continuing, but then we came upon a little cluster of houses/shacks on the coast opposite Maria Island. The coastal views were just lovely, and I think I am going to have to come back here with my kayak and explore the nearby lagoon.
(I’ve decided that it is highly likely that most members of my vast internet audience have enough download capacity to cope with bigger photos, so I’m not going to shrink them quite so much from now on.)
