Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

37. Eyes [100 poems challenge]

37.          Eyes

If you can’t seek a signed affidavit
To find out how depraved and decrepit
A person may be
There’s one way to see
Just stare at them, since the eyes have it.

30 May 2013

Comments: Hard work and not entirely worth the effort. This does, however, get “limerick” crossed off the list of “standard forms to be done”. I apologise for the “decrepit” half-rhyme, but as you may appreciate there are limited rhymes for “have it” … and, besides, at least I haven’t resorted to using one of my pet limerick hates: a repeated rhyme (often the first and last lines).

Themes to come: 38. Abandoned; 39. Dreams; 40. Rated; 41. Teamwork; 42. Standing Still

I’ll pay that; you can just about get away with it. I didn’t want to do any constructivating of new words just yet, however.
