Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

Final night

Sigh.

bHelenRoadOxfordWhere has the time gone?

On occasions in the last few weeks I’ve caught myself thinking “I could get used to this”, and then it occurs to me that it’s too late, I already have!

I’ve had such a wonderful time, with lots of intellectual and academic stimulation, papers finished and started, great experiences, friendships made, sights and sounds, ideas and discussions … and the list goes on. My cup hath spill’d over!

Now I just have to continue to capitalise on all I’ve learned and done … and hope like crazy that I can remember all that I’ve learned and done!

My final full day ended nicely with a dinner with Anne and John and John’s mother who is visiting. I’ve really enjoyed working with Anne and John, and I’ll always value their friendship.

And it looks like the 26 drops of cold and slightly solid rain that hit me yesterday will have to count as my UK snow experience.

[As for the photo: it’s a road I’ve passed on my way to and from work. There are not many people who can say they have a street named after them in Oxford … and I’m not one of them!!]
