On realising that today’s trip was my 20th northbound work trip for the year (and one of the more tedious ones at that), it was a bit disheartening to do the maths and calculate that 20 trips, at an average of 5 hours a trip, means 100 hours of travelling. Since I can’t work in the car (even when I’m not driving!), this means that I have lost 2 full weeks of work (2.7 weeks, if I worked to rule with a 37.5 hour week).
In order to avoid resenting this too much (and to recover from the tedious meeting) I took three photos this trip. The first is of some unusual trees, near “Disappearing House” just south of Conara Junction.
On my return journey, the looming clouds on the western horizon were kind of commensurate with my mood, but prettier.
And then because I’d already decided on this location I stopped by a copse of pine trees, to capture the effect of the serried ranks which always seem to me to create an air of mystery and spookiness.
