Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

12 of 12, November 2012

I knew 12 of 12 was coming and I had vague plans of doing another “record a typical day” kind of thing, but I kept forgetting about it as the morning progressed or else I didn’t have my camera with me when I remembered (and I wasn’t in an iPhone photo mood).

The day was also a […]

Derwent River panorama

It was a glorious day today, and so I did a 6km walk around Lindisfarne Point. There are fantastic views of the Derwent and so I stopped and did a sequence of photos to make a panorama (hindered by having water in the picture and by the fact that the camera was set for wide angle, […]

Moods of the Mountain #6

I’m not sure if there’s something special about the last three weeks, but they have been good for moody effects on the mountain (it also helps that the days are longer, which means that it is no longer dark most of the time I’m at home and awake!). These photos are essentially presented in order from […]
