Now you see it …

Brrrr.

It is more than a little chilly today. The heater in my office is on high, and I look rather Dickensian in my fingerless gloves, but at least they help warm my hands a little while still allowing me to use the computer*. The weather was pretty miserable overnight, and when I woke this morning I thought I could make out newly fallen snow on the mountain (last week’s fall had all but disappeared). It was too early and dark to be sure, and by the time dawn had more properly broken the mountain was obscured by gloomy grey clouds.

When I arrived at work however, the skies cleared and the snow was confirmed … for about half an hour … and then the mountain vanished again. There is some truth to the saying that if you don’t like the weather in Hobart, come back in five minutes!

* Yes, I AM getting some work done! It’s not ALL about visiting family and finding geocaches! I’m hoping to finish off another joint paper this afternoon.
