As I have made my way through various crates of memorabilia and stuff, I have set aside a few things that might be okay to send to an op shop (sometimes it’s hard to judge what people might be interested in reusing). So, the pile on the left comprises over 21 items of varying value/usefulness that might have enough potential for a life after being in my possession.
The most noteworthy item in the collection is the fair isle vest. This is one of only two items that I have ever knitted; an exercise completed in my 20s (if I recall correctly), largely, I suspect, to prove that I could actually knit something. Its existence (and that of a bushwalking balaclava knitted around the same time that I have kept) seems to prove that point; what it does not prove is that I have good taste in colour combinations (even I can see that it’s quite the opposite, which makes me wonder what on earth I was thinking … possibly the wool was cheap!).
It is now the op shop’s call about whether or not to throw it out.
