I find greys confusing, but useful. Like yours, my childhood was the same way until my 8th grade PE teacher pointed it out to me. It was one of the best pieces of advice I ever received in school. She told me I only saw things in black and white…my religious upbringing had no doubt contributed to this. She said she was afraid I would never be truly happy if I didn’t recognize how many shades of gray that existed. It took me many years to digest this information and make it useful, but I consider it very useful. This wisdom which was shared with me has allowed me to exist in a world which really is never black or white and still be okay.
