Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

I had a seasickness patch, which helped a bit, though not quite as much as I hoped. Fortunately the two-day trip was, in fact, […]

BT – Ushuaia

When 2016 started I had no inkling that I would be going on a Big Trip at the end of the year, although I had started thinking about doing something a bit major in the travel line using the long-service leave payout I received when I left the University of Melbourne, and I was thinking of […]

Happy Christmas 2016

[Dateline 22 December 2017: Whoops, in the rush to head off on the “Big Trip” I forgot to post this last year! I think I remembered to mail all the ones I intended to send; they may even have arrived earlier than they usually do because I had to get them done before December 15! Anyway, here is the […]

Fortunately I had technology to remind me it was the 12th.

An email reminded me that the cleaners were going to be cleaning our […]
