[Dateline 22 December 2017: Whoops, in the rush to head off on the “Big Trip” I forgot to post this last year! I think I remembered to mail all the ones I intended to send; they may even have arrived earlier than they usually do because I had to get them done before December 15! Anyway, here is the image for completeness.]
With this year’s Christmas card design I was aiming for something evocative and simple (and quick to produce as I was trying to get them done earlier than usual); so perhaps this might be called “essence of Christmas”. I’m not totally happy with it, but it’s reasonably satisfactory. I produced it in Procreate, which is an art app for the iPad, and it allowed me to use layers to create all the different effects without interfering with things I’d already created.
As always, I enjoy this annual tradition of making the cards and sending them; it gives me a chance to reflect on the year that’s been and the friends I have. May your Christmas be a happy one, and may 2017 be a good year.
