64. Multitasking
This morning—as I planned my day,
Compiled the weekly shopping list,
Pondered why cane toads exist,
And solved equations, by the way—
The thought began to cross my mind
That surely I could save some time
If I could, simultaneously,
Don my shoes and brush my hair,
Clean my teeth and fix that tear,
And maybe one more thing or three.
I wished to do them all right now
But simply could not work out how.
I know I’ll go to mighty pains
To cope with multiple demands;
But while I think I have the brains
It’s clear I’ve insufficient hands.
