Moods of the Mountain

The rules: Photos of Mount Wellington taken from my balcony.

There are plenty of other places I can and will take photos of the mountain, but they will appear elsewhere. These ones have to be taken from home. They pretty much appear in reverse chronological order (so the one at the top is usually the most recent). Some of them are not particularly good photos, but the idea is that they capture the many and varied moods displayed by the mountain.

29 December 2013. 7:15am: Morning cloud and rainbows.

25 December 2013. 9pm: Sunset on Christmas Day.

17 December 2013. 7:30am: Cloud effects in the morning.

15 December 2013. Viewed from my place the sun sets directly behind
the mountain at this time of year (nearly 8:30pm).

1 December 2013. 6:20am and 8:20pm: Clouds skirting the lower foothills
in the early morning, and the sunlit clouds stretched out across the
evening sky as the sun sinks behind the summit.

17 November 2013. 7pm: Crepuscular rays on the northern hills
(using a longer zoom than I've had available in the past).

5 November 2013. 8:00pm: Sunset at the end of a mild spring day.

24 October 2013. 4:00pm: Overnight snowfall being hidden by the embracing clouds.

21 October 2013. 7:30pm: Crepuscular rays just before sunset.

20 October 2013. 7:10am: Mountain half-lit by the morning sun (for a close-up of the

19 October 2013. 7:30pm: Sunset at the end of a warm blustery day.

14 October 2013. 7:30am: Spring snow fall.

11 October 2013. 6:30am (Daylight Saving time): Sunrise light with cloud and rainbows.

8 October 2013. 6:40am (Daylight Saving time): Sunrise light and shadows.

25 September 2013. 6:15am Early morning big rainbow.

15 August 2013. 7:30am Blue skies in the morning after overnight snow.

10 August 2013. 8:30am Grey winter morning in sunlight.

15 June 2013. 5:00pm Wintry sunset.

23 May 2013. 7:30am It was only this thick for about 15 minutes, but this is the
thickest I've seen it.

2 May 2013. 7:10am on a glorious autumn day, a few minutes after sunrise,
and after snowfalls the day before.
