This morning’s mountain was half-lit in the morning sun, and the angle of the light has made the Organ Pipes feature quite clear so I’ve enlarged that part of the photo so you can see some of the detail. Most of the mountain is dolerite, an igneous rock which cools slowly enough to create the columns of rock that make this feature so distinctive (and an attraction to rock-climbers).
