During the morning the editors of the research journal that organised the meetings
met with some local potential authors. I'm not entirely sure that the balloons were
for us, although I wouldn't be surprised given the Taiwanese propensity for
giving things a sense of occasion.
I met with a Taiwanese researcher, who had provided a draft article on which
I was to comment and otherwise mentor. I hope that (a) I was able to offer
some helpful advice (b) I offered it in an understandable way given
the language barrier and (c) it will be acted upon!
