I was also going to get them to work out how many grains of rice there are
in a 10kg bag but we ran out of time. This was the fault of the politician
opening the conference, who managed to blather on rather longer than he had
been briefed to do. If you're wondering — about the number of grains of rice,
not the name of the politician — the answer is about 500 000, obtained by weighing
out and counting 20g of rice on the kitchen scales shown.
