My main reason for trying not to have a day off sick was because I had a class to take.
We were doing stuff on early counting, and got sidetracked talking about big numbers
(getting sidetracked is one of my teaching specialities!). I'd earlier made a PowerPoint presentation intended to give an idea about what one trillion dollars looks like. Using
$100 notes, and with a human figure at the left for scale, the last slide in the presentation
gives an approximation for this vast quantity.
