Consider the lilies of the field*, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Matt. 6:28-29, KJV)
* Actually, they’re now in a vase on the table, and they’re not growing … although they have opened up during the week.
Just don’t let that pollen drop on said table – or anything else – as it will indelibly stain anything it touches!
I’ve been known to snip off the pollen stamens before I put the flowers in a vase to avoid anything becoming much more orange than I want it to be.
The flowers look so beautiful too.
