One of the wonderful things about living in Tasmania is that you don’t have to travel very far for a change of scenery.
I’d had a week of being stuck in the office for long hours, and I needed a break for at least a little while on Saturday morning, so I offered to take Mum and Dad for a morning drive. With a hot day forecast we headed for the beach, and enjoyed a stroll at Clifton Beach, a bit less than half an hour’s drive away. There were quite a few surfers out enjoying the gentle swell, and the water certainly looked inviting although I think it might have been quite a bit cooler than the air temperature!
We then continued further south to South Arm and had a gentle stroll along the sheltered beach on the east side of Arm End, where the mountain revealed itself at interesting angles, and the bright pink pigface (Carpobrotus glaucescens) shouted their presence in a cluster near the start of our walk.
