The final day of our holiday involved travelling back to Hobart, but we decided to head into the north-eastern mountains en route. Our morning was spent driving along a quiet country road, up and down dale, through pine plantations and temperate rainforest, and across a creek or two.
Just north of Mt Barrow the country-side opened up into lonely farmland, with lichen-covered stockyards, and a few stretches of eucalyptus plantations. We only stopped for a few photos before continuing on towards our main destination for the day: Ben Lomond (the Tasmanian one, in case any of you think that traversing half the planet in a morning in a Subaru might be possible).
