Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

Some photos from a country road

The final day of our holiday involved travelling back to Hobart, but we decided to head into the north-eastern mountains en route. Our morning was spent driving along a quiet country road, up and down dale, through pine plantations and temperate rainforest, and across a creek or two.

bIMG_1665 Just north of Mt Barrow the country-side opened up into lonely farmland, with lichen-covered stockyards, and a few stretches of eucalyptus plantations. We only stopped for a few photos before continuing on towards our main destination for the day: Ben Lomond (the Tasmanian one, in case any of you think that traversing half the planet in a morning in a Subaru might be possible). bIMG_1670
