The last time I popped my Sky 2 CD into the stereo, opened the album sheet-music to Scipio and treated myself to 12 minutes of sheer unadulterated house-rocking, barn-storming, head-banging (not quite) joyful noise was back in September 2010 when I was living in Melbourne. Since then I have moved, and replaced the stereo.
Tonight, I needed a dose of loud rock (and wrong notes — my fingers are very out of practice), so I popped my Sky 2 CD into the stereo, opened the album sheet-music to Scipio and …
anticlimax.
I don’t know what wattage the stereo’s tiny speakers have but it clearly ain’t enough for house-rocking, barn-storming, and head-banging (and drowning out my wrong notes). At least I didn’t have to worry about risking friendly relations with my neighbours, but it was, I confess, a little disappointing.
I may have to rethink my audiophonic requirements.
