Every Scout campsite I have been to has its own atmosphere and special features, but I think I might have found a new all-time all-around favourite location. This weekend’s statewide Clark Trophy competition camp was held at Fulton Park, near the tiny town of Forth on Tassie’s northwest coast (about 280km from Hobart). There are lovely open areas for camping, good facilities, some bush for running around in, and the site is on the banks of the Forth River.
It helped that the weather was glorious and there was an overnight mist that created lovely effects in the early morning light as I went for a pre-breakfast stroll.
(Our patrol of kids finished in the top half of the state … but I didn’t take very many photos of all of that stuff.)
Just wow!
