I have already confessed to using Facebook. I have mixed feelings about its value, but, for now, I use it to keep up with a few friends, and I post there from time to time.
It is possible to download all your status updates, and I have now done this and extracted the ones for 2010. I am not going to waste space on reproducing these in this blog entry, but I have stored them for “archival purposes”. There are updates about marking and other deadlines, technological frustrations, Scout activities, and various other bits of trivia. The collection doesn’t entirely reflect the year that was, but it does provide some insights into what went on.
[If you want to download your own status updates, and a whole bunch of other stuff, you can do so by logging in to Facebook, go to the “Account” tab, select “Account Settings”, and then click on “Learn More” next to “Download your information” and follow the instructions from there. Please be very aware that if you do this the downloaded file contains personal information that you will need to protect appropriately.]
