I have been trying to be more active lately in preparation for a big adventure at the end of the year, and so I have been seeking walks and hills. This afternoon I tried out a new track, the part of the Tangara Trail that runs from Roches Beach at Lauderdale towards Seven Mile Beach. The beach is quite lovely, but then the trail goes up over the headland, and follows undulating coastal fields and scrub.
I didn’t have time to go all the way to Seven Mile Beach but turned back about 1km short. It was a windy day and on the return journey I appreciated the tail wind I had instead of the head winds that had buffeted me on the outward trip.
The kayaker that overtook me also appreciated the tail wind. It’s certainly a lovely walk, and one I’ll almost certainly do again.
