Yarn-bombers have attacked Campbell Town. The eclectic knitwear bedecks the statue of Eliza Forlong(e) who, in the early 1800s, was largely responsible for getting merino sheep established in Australia (hence the ram that accompanies her). Although it is, perhaps, ironic to have her clothed in knitted finery I am guessing that most of the yarn is not merino.
(I had some other photos in mind for this trip, but I had to get back to Hobart in time for a meeting, and ran out of time. I am heading north again next week, and so, provided there’s not much wind between now and then, I hope to get what I am looking for on that occasion.)
