This will be, as far as I know, my last work-related north-bound trip for the year. The central section of the Midlands has a series of slightly-larger-than-life-size silhouette statues/artworks that commemorate its early colonial history. I may eventually do a series of photos of them, since I enjoy spotting them as I make the journey, although this is the first time I have used one for my Midlands collection. The one in the photo below — of a bushranger (highwayman) holding up a victim — is just south of Oatlands. Each December, for the past four years at least, somebody does some amusing festive decorating. It seems fitting to end the year’s Midlands photo collection with it.
