I’d hoped to get out for a decent walk during daylight hours today, but it’s marking season and not only am I behind on this but I’m swamped by a large number of other things as well. It was, however (and unfortunately), a glorious day, and so I wanted to do something a bit interesting for this month’s 12 of 12 collection. Fortunately the winter sunlight was doing lovely things in various places, so I picked a theme—”Winter Light”—and escaped for a brief photo excursion around my building. Two alternative locations bookend the collection: the bridge and mountain not long after sunrise on my way to work this morning, and then this evening the opening of this winter’s Dark Mofo arts festival added some extra light variations, with a red-hued bridge and a new spotlight feature. The blurry bunny in the middle of the collection doesn’t entirely fit the theme; it is just a random accidental photograph that I quite liked although it could have been a smidge better (there are at least two rabbits down in the bush behind my office; this is one of them).
(The “12 of 12” project involves taking 12 photos on the 12th of the month. This provides the opportunity to get snapshots of different aspects of your life. I have been doing this for nearly six years; this current collection is my 70th 12 of 12.)
