That’s better … (GROIC3)

Well, it took me far longer than I wanted, but I now have an office in which I think I can face the year. The office was the subject of a GROIC in December, although it wasn’t until New Year’s Day that I completed the final components for the 1+2+3+…+31 piles, and it wasn’t until today (Jan 4 … yes, I went into work on a Saturday … and New Year’s Day*) that I got it to the stage where I can ignore what remains (in fact, there are only two boxes left, and it should not take long to deal with them, now that everything else is done). So, here are two pairs of before and after photos.

For the record, here are the GROIC numbers (many involved more objects than are actually accounted for): 2012 diary (#1), UV disintegrated suspension files, (#2), paddle-pop sticks (#3), piles of paper/documents/handouts (#4, #7, #14, #15, #16, #21, #23, #25, #26), batches of Quality of Teaching feedback (#5, #9, #11, #13), redundant CDs (#6), conference programs and magazines (#8), old assignments (#10, #18, #19, #27, #28, #29, #30, #31), teeny Toblerones found in a package sent to me nearly two years ago (#12, I confess I ate them which satisfied GROIC but I will also confess that they weren’t particularly nice), journal volumes (#17), reviews I had written evaluating articles sent to journals for publication (#20), plastic wrappers from journals that I hadn’t read (#22; journals now filed but still unread), old journal articles associated with editing (#24).

* Perhaps now that I have an efficient and functional office I can get a life!
