I don’t really want to post this one, but here it is: the box of guilt and shame.
It contains 30 objects that have been in my possession for far far far too long. I have been meaning to return them to their rightful owner for ages (indeed, they have moved house with me on three occasions, which begins to indicate how long “ages” might be) but I kept forgetting and/or procrastinating.
Every so often I’d trip over the box and be reminded of my failure, and I’d promise myself that “yes, I’m going to deal with that”, but the tripping would occur at night and by morning the promise had fallen out of my head.
So, tomorrow I must deal with the box.
With no forgetting or procrastinating.
There’s one problem, however: I need to find the rightful owner’s address, because, like me, they have moved in the intervening years (and, unlike me, have also changed name).
