Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

GROIC Day 15

IFOkay, something weird happened for this one.

I sorted out all my old Church magazines into three categories — the one for kids, the one for youth, and the one for grown ups – a week or so ago, and took photos of them back then, ready for the three days for which I was going to count them. I’ve been labelling my GROIC photos according to their intended day, but for some reason — I have no idea why — I labelled the collection of Ensigns for day 15, despite the fact that there are clearly 14 piles (and there are 14 piles for precisely the same reason there were 14 years’ worth of Christmas cards: 13 years in Melbourne, plus last year). I’m sure I knew there were 14 at the time (indeed, the gap in the array had bothered my OCD self), but all week I’ve been assuming that there were 15 piles, thanks to mislabelling the photo.

It was, therefore, a bit annoying — especially for my OCD self — to realise that I was on day 15 and there were only 14 piles. However, since there are 12 magazines in each pile, giving a total of 168 magazines, then no one can deny that disposing of 15 things has been well and truly satisfied today.

(By the way, I have found several possible homes for the kids’ magazines I was going to throw out last week. I have yet to find any takers for the other sets, however.)
