73. I Can’t
I’m here in a session on maths education
As part of some conf’rences now on day four,
To learn what kids think about function notation
And how good technology helps them explore;
And everyone seems to be paying attention
But I am quite certain that some of them aren’t,
While, at the same time, it’s my extra intention
To write a new poem, but maybe I can’t.

Comments: Or perhaps I can! (Well, actually I really can’t, because I had intended it to be shorter and wittier, but I couldn’t get the “can’t” rhyme happening soon enough.) It’s just a little bit scary that the date this was written is so close to the date it was published, and the remaining buffer of “just-in-case-I-fall-behind poems” is shrinking.
Themes to come: 74. Are You Challenging Me? 75. Mirror; 76. Broken Pieces; 77. Test; 78. Drink
