35. Hold My Hand
I look at you beside me
Legs scampering to match my stride,
Eager and wondering;
And I move my hand towards you
Palm open, welcoming,
You reach and clasp it eagerly,
All your strength gentle,
All your trust poured into the grip.
“To be sure of you”
Said Piglet to Pooh,
But here, as I walk with my niece,
To be sure of each other.
