Today was one of those days where I half-forgot about 12 of 12: it never came to mind when there were vaguely interesting things happening (I managed to find a formal evening dress … which, given my lack of self-confidence when clothes shopping, was a truly miraculous event … but one which, for now at least, is going to remain undocumented photographically), and when I did remember I couldn’t think of anything to photograph.

I arrived home from the day’s commitments in the mid-late evening, and realised that I had nothing so far and so needed to do something … and that I had to pick a something that could be done quickly and at night time. After all, it’s not as if I could say I had forgotten entirely, because my iPad, computer and iPhone had all been reminding me of the fact that it was 12 of 12.

And then it occurred to me: I could make “Gadgets” the theme for the month. Surely I had 12 gadgets that I could document photographically; well, yes, indeed I had.

So this month’s 12 of 12 collection shows some of the toys and tools that are a part of my life in 2013; the oldest is 9 years old, and the youngest is about 6 weeks old. Click here to view the photos and a little bit of the story behind them.
