Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

12 of 12, October 2011

This month’s 12 of 12 fell on “Ride to Work” day, and so there are a few photos of my cycling journey, together with a couple of shots of some of my teaching activities.

The big thing that is happening at the moment, however, is that I am in the throes of getting my real-estate portfolio organised for my forthcoming change of address. My future address is just about sorted out; I also have to deal with my current address. This is all a bit scary.

Regardless of all of this, I do love spring evening light.

The photos are here.

  • I really should sell my house just for the decluttering! You’ll love riding to work over the bridge. 🙂

Hmmm, yes, I’ve been aware of the bridge issue: great views, but the potential for strength-sapping uphill slogs into a howling gale on the single lane shared footpath where two bikes can’t meet without serious negotiations about how to get past each other! Yes, I know it well! At least there is a nice long eastern shore bike path.

The thing about getting a house ready to sell is that it ends up cleaner, neater and better maintained that it ever was in all the time you’ve been living there! Hope it sells quickly – am keeping an eye on your new abode – it’s ready and waiting for you.
