Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

Table of movable feasts*

We were going to be moving offices just before Christmas last year.

Then we were going to be moving in the middle of January.

Then it was going to be before Easter.

Then it was going to be sometime before the end of May.

Then it was going to be May 31 and this definitely wouldn’t change.

Then it was going to be June 9, and we were told that the judges’ decision was final and not negotiable, absolutely immutable come hell or high water, and guaranteed to be irrevocably set in concrete and nothing can change it.

Today we heard that it is going to be June 20.

* The “table of movable feasts” is a sort of calendar thingy that tells the dates for certain religious “feast” days, such as Easter and Lent, which are not fixed from year to year. My tables are covered with movable files, since I have determined that I am going to continue to pack up as if the move was still June 9. (Yes, there IS a table under all that junk.)
