Dramatis persona*

helenhead Helen Chick

I've always wanted a bumper sticker that said "I'm a female, LDS/Mormon, Scout leading, geocaching, piano-playing, bicycling, mathematics educator with a PhD in maths ... and I VOTE"!

I think this makes me a minority group of cardinality 1!

* Since there's only one of me and "personae" is plural (I think), I've gone with dramatis persona.

12 of 12, February 2010

This time the 12th has fallen on (a) a weekday and (b) a day when I am not in an exotic location like Oxford or at Jamboree.

This suggests that doing “12 of 12” this month might actually end up showing the kind of “typicality” that the “12 of 12” idea was intended to capture.

However, rather than having my point of view (through the lens of a camera), I am going to give you my computer’s point of view, with 12 screen shots capturing the day’s activities (I will admit that one of them is a contrived representation of the truth).

So, here are my 12 of 12 “photos” for the 12th of this month.

  • Fun interpretation! (My spam is almost entirely Viagra-related. Huh.)

Woke up this morning and decided I needed a treat! Usually this comes in the form of “a little smackerel of something” (A.A. Milne)- no not honey – just food, but today I decided to check in on ‘The Chick’. Hadn’t kept your URL anywhere I could remember so searched for Helen Chick on Google Blogsearch which led me to Helena J (Hi, Helena, you have cute kids and I love your blog) who had a link to you. I’m sure there were more logical ways to find it but so long as you get there in the end what does it matter. Plus the detour via Helena J land was fascinating – love the closet under the stairs!
Thanks for taking the time to blog Helen, love your brand of humour and creativity. I’d love to catch up. Perhaps next time I’m in the city I can catch you during a break. Do you ever have those?
