These are some of my photos from a 24km walk incorporating the summit of Mt Kosciuzko, at 2228m the highest mountain
in Australia. After reaching the summit I continued around the Main Range track, to the summit of Mt Carruthers
and Blue Lake before getting back to Charlotte's Pass. I took over 200 photos in glorious weather, although it
was actually very hard to capture the vastness and grandeur of the area. There is another page of photos of
snowgums and Rainbow Lake here.
The track from Charlotte's Pass walks up the side of the valley containing the famous |

A field of dead flower heads (not sure what plant; maybe Billy Buttons). |
Lake Albina, one of the five glacial lakes in the area. The glaciers are long gone, of course, |

Blue Lake, looking more blue-grey-green to me. This is another of the glacial lakes. |
