After yesterday's epic adventure we did something a little more gentle today, with a stroll along the canal in Todmorden, and then up onto a smaller hill, where the wind was still pretty strong.
View of Todmorden from the east. Three valleys meet here, and you can also see the rail line. |
Bridle path leading up to the hilltop from which the first photo was taken. |
St Paul's Cross Stone Church (disused) above Todmorden. |
Horse, fields and view up to Stoodley Pike (the narrow valley of the Calder lies, invisible, between the horse and the far hill). |
Wind-swept grass and autumnal tree. |
